Best Historical landmark in Italia

c	channel max on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bel castello, non lontano dal confine con l'Austria. Risale probabilmente al 1200 ed è stato per molto tempo una fortezza vescovile. Si trova ai piedi della rupe che ospita l'Abbazia benedettina di Monte Santa Maria, quasi in pianura ( anche se ci troviamo probabilmente a 1200m. Sul livello del mare..). Ha una lunga storia, ma è arrivato ai nostri tempi in ottime condizioni. Ospita tutt'ora un collegio agrario e per questo SI PUÒ VISITARE SOLO nei mesi di LUGLIO ed AGOSTO, al GIOVEDI POMERIGGIO (dalle 14.30 con visita guidata in tedesco ed in italiano). È un piccolo gioiello poco conosciuto, vale la pena visitarlo, anche perché le guide sono veramente in gamba, vi racconteranno la storia del castello in ogni dettaglio. Leggendo altre recensioni,ho visto che qualcuno si lamentava per il posteggio ma penso sia andato da un'altra parte, poiché esiste un grande e comodo posteggio proprio alle porte del castello. Nice castle, not far from the Austrian border. It probably dates back to 1200 and was a bishop's fortress for a long time. It is located at the foot of the cliff that houses the Benedictine Abbey of Monte Santa Maria, almost in the plain (although we are probably at 1200m. Above sea level ..). It has a long history, but it has come down to our times in excellent condition. It still houses an agricultural college and for this reason IT CAN ONLY BE VISITED in the months of JULY and AUGUST, on THURSDAY AFTERNOON (from 2.30 pm with guided tour in German and Italian). It is a little known little gem, it is worth visiting, also because the guides are really smart, they will tell you the history of the castle in every detail. Reading other reviews, I saw that someone was complaining about the parking but I think they went somewhere else, as there is a large and convenient parking space right on the doorstep of the castle.

Nonostante avessimo letto sul sito e chiamato la mattina stessa per conferma, arriviamo sul posto e la visita delle ore 14 scopriamo non essere prevista. Come noi erano sul posto circa altre 10 persone. Ufficio turismo assolutamente inadeguato nelle info che fornisce. Bad experience on August 31st. Although we had read on the site and called the same morning for confirmation, we arrive on site and the visit at 2 pm we discover is not expected. Like us, about 10 other people were on site. Tourist office absolutely inadequate in the info it provides.

Il castello si trova in mezzo alla vallata, ad una quota di 1200 metri e si trova proprio al di sotto dell'abbazia di Monte Maria. L'edificio, fu eretto tra il 1272 e il 1282, e presenta un'unica torre quadrata. Molto probabilmente la rocca fu costruita sulla base di edifici preesistenti. A seguito dell'improvviso crollo della torre della rocca, nel 1996 si procedette a un recupero generale dell'intero sito promossi dall'allora direttore dell'istituto, Dr. Georg Flora. The Prince's Castle is a medieval castle in the hamlet of Burgusio, within the municipal area of Malles Venosta, in Val Venosta, in South Tyrol. The castle is located in the middle of the valley, at an altitude of 1200 meters and is located just below the abbey of Monte Maria. The building was erected between 1272 and 1282, and has a single square tower. Most likely the fortress was built on the basis of pre-existing buildings. Following the sudden collapse of the fortress tower, in 1996 a general recovery of the entire site was carried out, promoted by the then director of the institute, Dr. Georg Flora.
