Beautiful Alm above Hochtelves. In winter, a toboggan run goes up. The food is good.

Every time a nice and tasty destination. Small but fine menu with lots of goodies. Plus an extremely warm and friendly family.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wir waren das 1. Mal auf der Freundalm. Eine tolle Aussicht. Eine sehr gemütliche Hütte ob drinnen oder draußen. Der Kaiserschmarrn war sehr lecker.
We were the first time on the Freundalm. A great view. A very cozy cabin whether inside or outside. The Kaiserschmarrn was delicious.

Partenza da Telves di Sopra (parcheggio accanto alla stazione dei vigili del fuoco) e poi su, seguendo la strada forestale direzione "Telfer almen", cioè malghe di Teves.
La Freund alm è la prima.
In inverno il percorso è più impegnativo a causa della neve sulla strada ma, anche con nevicata in corso, è possibile percorrerlo con i soli scarponi senza l'ulteriore peso delle ciaspole.
Una volta arrivati si viene ripagati di ogni fatica: la malga è bellissima, calda e accogliente; i piatti della signora sono cucinati con il cuore e l'ospitalità è assicurata.
Da celiaca ho potuto mangiare tranquillamente, mi ha preparato una squisita padella di patate, speck, formaggio e uova, naturalmente gluten free.

Departure from Telves di Sopra (car park next to the fire station) and then up, following the forest road towards "Telfer almen", that is to say the Teves mountain huts.
Freund alm is the first.
In winter the route is more challenging due to the snow on the road but, even with snowfall in progress, it is possible to walk it with only boots without the additional weight of snowshoes.
Once you arrive, you are rewarded for every effort: the hut is beautiful, warm and welcoming; the lady's dishes are cooked with heart and hospitality is guaranteed.
As a celiac I was able to eat safely, she prepared me an exquisite pan of potatoes, speck, cheese and eggs, naturally gluten free.

Departure from telves, 1 hour and a half walk with some stops, for the more daring in an hour you go up. Few items on the menu but excellent food, excellent quality, average prices. The poorly organized service, too much waiting and few people in the kitchen and dining room. X the rest, I would say excellent
