★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una delle fontane che più adoro di catania, fortunatamente ancora non invasa da turisti o da cittadini un po' sciocchi, il nome è assolutamente adatto, inoltre si trovo a pochi passi dal palazzo Rosa, dalla stazione, da due moschee e vicino si trovano luoghi di ristoro.
La fontana è ben curata.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Costruita nei primi anni cinquanta su progetto di Domenico Cannizzaro, è costituita da una vasca circolare con al centro un obelisco a sezione quadrata alla cui base si trovano quattro valve di conchiglia che danno il nome alla fontana.
