Ad anni alterni, acquistavo le ciabatte in pelle mod. 90820316BE in un negozio Fly Flot del Centro Commerciale Tor Vergata: con riposante soddisfazione mia e delle mie estremità. Chiuso quel negozio, dirottai su una nota catena Globale poco distante. Ripetutomi ultimamente in quel di Ariccia, all’utilizzo fui colto da imprevisto sconforto: la tomaia era più costrittiva e la soletta trasmetteva al piede il fastidio sensibile della sottostante struttura alveolare della suola. Né alcuna molle blandizia valse a rincuorare le afflitte estremità, per l’insulto patito dalle loro – un tempo – buone compagne di strada. Le cose cambiano e noi con loro.

In alternate years, I bought the leather slippers mod. 90820316BE in a Fly Flot store in the Tor Vergata Shopping Center: to my restful satisfaction and my extremities. Closed that shop, I diverted to a well-known Global chain not far away. Recently repeated in Ariccia, when I was used I was struck by unexpected discomfort: the upper was more constricting and the insole transmitted to the foot the sensitive annoyance of the underlying alveolar structure of the sole. Nor was any soft coaxing worthy of heartening the afflicted extremities, for the insult suffered by their - once - good traveling companions. Things change and we with them.
