★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What better way to enjoy stunning Garda than by ferry boat? There are (as far as we could see) two types of ferry: the big, slow boats and the smaller, faster hydrofoils. We took a trip from Garda to Sirmione, surely one of the most beautiful places in Lake Garda, if not the world. The cost was 46 Euros for a family of three. The ferry ran on time, but it was a very sedate journey. On the way back, we paid an extra 12 Euros for the faster service. This was a supplement of 4 Euros each, but worth it as it was the last day of our holiday and it meant we could enjoy an hour more at Sirmione and still get back to Garda in good time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very handy for trips up and down the lake, however be prepared to queue for tickets at busy times, we allowed 30 minutes before the boat was due. This booth took cash and credit card payments.
