★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' stato costruito nel '600 dai monaci olivetani a ridosso delle mura del Castello di Federico II, su concessione dei marchesi di Giuliana, Isabella Gioeni e Marcantonio Colonna. Ben presto il monastero diventa un'importante "università" dove ci si dedica allo studio della filosofia e della teologia. Agli inizi del Novecento, il complesso diventa Opera Pia Buttafoco- Tomasini e così rimane per 90 anni fino alla completa chiusura. La chiesa, riccamente decorata, è oggi chiusa al culto e versa in forte stato di abbandono.
It was built in the seventeenth century by the Olivetan monks behind the walls of the Castle of Frederick II, by concession of the Marquis of Giuliana, Isabella Gioeni and Marcantonio Colonna. Soon the monastery became an important "university" where we devoted ourselves to the study of philosophy and theology. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the complex became Opera Pia Buttafoco- Tomasini and so it remained for 90 years until complete closure. The church, richly decorated, is today closed to worship and is in a state of disrepair.
