★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I ruderi del piccolo stabilimento per la Fabbricazione della Birra e del Ghiaccio, della Società Anonima Birra d’Abruzzo, che dalla fondazione nel 1921 e fino al 1930 divenne il concorrente più temibile della già affermata Peroni, surclassandone le vendite grazie ad una intelligente politica di prezzi calmierati e, soprattutto, alla straordinaria bontà artigianale della birra prodotta.
Installó i propri impianti all’interno dell’ex stabilimento delle Torbiere Riunite di proprietà del barone Angeloni di Roccaraso, anche per la possibilità di disporre facilmente del combustibile da utilizzare per le cotte (sostituito in un secondo momento dal carbone) ed alla presenza della ferrovia Sulmona-Carpinone in grado di facilitare spedizioni ed approvvigionamenti di materie prime (orzo caramellato, luppolo, lievito) dalla Germania mediante l’utilizzo di un raccordo costruito appositamente, che dalla vicina stazione di Montenero Valcocchiara conduceva fin dentro allo stabilimento. Impiegava in totale un centinaio di persone, manodopera in gran parte già impegnata nella torbiera.
La Peroni nel 1930 riuscì a conquistare il pacchetto di maggioranza della societá abruzzese, deliberandone lo scioglimento e la conseguente messa in liquidazione.
Triste storia di un'eccellenza imprenditoriale conclusa prematuramente.
 The ruins of the small factory for the Manufacture of Beer and Ice, of the Società Anonima Birra d'Abruzzo, which from its foundation in 1921 until 1930 became the most formidable competitor of the already established Peroni, outclassing its sales thanks to an intelligent policy of low prices and, above all, the extraordinary artisan goodness of the beer produced.
He installed his plants inside the former factory of the Riunite peat bogs owned by Baron Angeloni di Roccaraso, also for the possibility of easily having the fuel to be used for the cooked (later replaced by coal) and in the presence of the railway Sulmona-Carpinone able to facilitate shipments and supplies of raw materials (caramelized barley, hops, yeast) from Germany through the use of a specially built connection, which from the nearby Montenero Valcocchiara station led right into the factory. It employed a total of about a hundred people, a large part of which was already employed in the peat bog.
Peroni in 1930 managed to win the majority package of the Abruzzo company, resolving its dissolution and subsequent liquidation.
Sad story of entrepreneurial excellence that ended prematurely.
