Quite ok, pretty expensive compared to Italians, but if you're full of pasta and pizza I fully recommend.

So being from Arizona, I've had Mexican food once or twice in my life. For what was labeled as Mexican-Texas from El Salvador?, it was actually pretty good. Tasted fresh and delicious, was plated well and was fair priced. Decor was a bit over the top and the entire place is split into 2 separate dining areas. We were sat on the empty side which, since Italy already is notorious for slooooow service, made it so I had to get up and ask for things like when we were ready to order or for the check. A 30 minute lunch became nearly an hour and half meal and nap. Sit where you can see the staff and the place is worth trying if you're in the area.

This restaurant had vegan options! I had vegan nachos and tacos and my father had steak. He said it was delicious. I don’t typically like Mexican restaurants in Italy because typically our bar is set too high for real Mexican food but this restaurant did a good job. My vegan dishes were full of veggies and tofu. The tacos had an Italian twist on it but adding olives and onions to the tacos. They didn’t have margaritas on the menu but said they’d make it. Instead, we had some Coronas, can’t go wrong here! Eating at this restaurant was a good experience but i probably will not return when coming back to Salerno.

We were excited to switch up our routine and try something new this past Saturday, and we were not disappointed! El Salvador was a really fun little ristorante located in downtown Salerno. The locale is a bit younger, late teens/early 20’s, but still respectful. We sat out on the patio as there were heaters that kept us warm and we could enjoy nightlife sightseeing. I am a Mexican food veteran - I’ve backpacked thoroughly through Central America and loved the cuisine, however we ordered very simple dishes as it was my boyfriends first time and it was a pretty simple menu. They advertise as Tex/Mex, which means the menu mostly had nachos, quesadillas, burritos, fajitas.. Those kind of things! As well as all the yummy drinks! (Think daiquiri, Mojito, bulldog, etc) Servers were friendly enough. Mexican food is usually pretty quick to prepare, so I think I was expecting to have our food quicker. We ordered the chicken and avocado quesadilla, Cajun tortilla chips and three dips. Food was good! Not overly authentic. For the price of 2 pizzas a couple doors down, we got a couple of appetizers, mains and water. No complaints! ??‍♀️
