★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Chiesa Arcipretale é l'ex Cattedrale di Isola Capo Rizzuto, intitolata a Santa Maria Assunta e sorge all'esterno delle mura cinquecentesche che circoscrivonoil nucleo urbano di Isola. Nel corso dei secoli é stata più volte oggetto di numerosi interventi che ne hanno mutato la fisionomia. A prima vista sembra che la Chiesa sia priva di campanile. Nel XVIII secolo ne venne costruito uno con due campane piccole e di due grandi. Ogni anno, nella prima settimana di maggio viene celebrata la festa della Madonna Greca. La festa inizia venerdì e termina il lunedì.
The Archpriest Church is the former Cathedral of Isola Capo Rizzuto, dedicated to Santa Maria Assunta and stands outside the sixteenth-century walls that circumscribe the urban core of Isola. Over the centuries it has been the subject of numerous interventions that have changed its appearance several times. At first glance it seems that the church has no bell tower. In the 18th century one was built with two small bells and two large ones. Every year, the feast of the Greek Madonna is celebrated in the first week of May. The party starts on Friday and ends on Monday.
