A cool building on an amazing location, but it's a bit tricky to get a good view of the harbour and sea as there are quite a few trees around... The exhibitions feelt abit empty and there was a very sad looking platypus...

The captain definitely has a fantastic panoply of curiosities. All the Paccini houses were fun to look at and stirred the imagination. Access to the garden and cafe is free and the museum and access to seeing this castle was worth it. It really is a nice place to chill, take in some views or to dine. It closes late on Thursdays. The castle was impressive because it was one person's house. If you haven't taken the elevator from via Balbi, definitely do so. The ascensore is just as much fun and interesting. A top way of getting to the castle and it is before you as you exit from the ascensore.

A great museum in a beautiful building, with an excellent view over Genoa. Definitely worth the hike up. I didn’t go myself but the cafe looked excellent too.

Neat place but the staff followed us around very closely through the entire place, not ever saying anything but just watching us, presumably because we had kids. They didn't treat other visitors this way. It was really uncomfortable and unwelcoming. Not good if you have children.

Very nice place to visit! Some interesting things can be seen there, even not entering the museum, like solar clocks and a calculator for true time. The place is like a garden, full of greenery

The landmark you can't miss from the city. It is literally can be seen everywhere near the cruise port and the railway station.

Very interesting castle and museum. The castle itself has some nice views over the city but there are better spots for that to be honest. But that is not the reason to go to this place. What really sold this place to me was the castle itself and the museum. The castle consists of multiple styles on both the exterior and interior making it very unique and in my eyes, very beautiful. The museum within the castle shows objects of about a dozen cultures including japanese, indian, Turkish, ect. Do take in account there is little information within the museum that is in english. Extra tip is to take the elevator that is at the central station, it will drop you off at the entrance of the castle and is quite a special experience as its an elevator that goes both sideways and upwards. It will save you both energy and time.

Beautiful place to discover Genoa and the valorous exploration around the world. It was a surprise to see some receipts from Melbourne town hall in1878 the same place that I used to see everyday when I lived there.❀️
