★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We met with our tour guide, the wonderful Alice Rossi of ExploraEmilia, in the morning, but she got delayed when picking up the other couple attending our tour. While waiting, we were greeted very friendly by the facility manager, who provided a ton of interesting info about the place (and the Cheese Master's cuddly dog). When Alice and the other two members of our tour arrived, we were shown the entire procedure of cheese making, curing, etc. After the very intimate and excellent tour, we sampled 12, 24, and 36 month old Parmigiano Reggiano, - all delicious, but for different purposes. The portions were very, very generous. I met the manager again in their onsite store (selling their cheeses, local wines, oils, sausages, souvenirs, etc at really good prices). He made some wonderful cheese/wine pairing suggestions, which were very much appreciated. Our visit truly felt like a family gathering, and we even got a big hug when leaving. What a wonderful memory!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We arrived just after 3pm on a Wednesday in January, it seemed like it might be shut (in the middle of nowhere), but then a lady unlocked the door and we walked into one of the best delis we’d ever been in! Bought up on cheese (so cheap!) and meats, plus a knife and a cutting board so we could eat in the car. Great food (and good little souvenirs).
Was especially nice after getting lost in the underwhelming town of Parma...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cheese! English tour have to be arranged in advance for them to get a english speaking guide. There will also be a charge of 5 euros for the hygiene equipment. Highly recommended.
