★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unica grande brutta esperienza durante una vacanza ad Avola. Persone per nulla cortesi, ma quasi scocciate di avere un cliente. Chiedo di confetti classici con la mandorla famosa di Avola e mi spiegano che ce ne sono di diverso tipo a seconda della dimensione della mandorla e dello strato più o meno sottile di zucchero. Me li fanno vedere (NON assaggiare) in sacchettini trasparenti per farmi comprendere la differenza. Non essendoci un listino prezzi, li devo chiedere io, ovviamente con evidente accento non siciliano. Dico solo che i confetti deluxe me li hanno proposti a 70 € al kg! Opto per una "versione più economica" e, tornata a casa, scopro che nel sacchetto non c'è nemmeno lo scontrino! Arrabbiata con me stessa, racconto l'accaduto con la persona gentilissima che ci ha affittato casa. Ridendo mi dice che i confetti deluxe negli altri posti costano al massimo 16 € al Kg e che nessun Avolese compra nel confettificio Presti! Delusa!
 The only big bad experience during a holiday in Avola. People not at all courteous, but almost annoyed to have a customer. I ask for classic sugared almonds with the famous Avola almond and they explain to me that there are different types depending on the size of the almond and the more or less thin layer of sugar. They show them to me (NOT taste them) in transparent bags to make me understand the difference. Since there is no price list, I have to ask for them, obviously with an evident non-Sicilian accent. I'm just saying that they offered me the deluxe sugared almonds at € 70 per kg! I opt for a "cheaper version" and, back home, I discover that there is not even a receipt in the bag! Angry with myself, I tell what happened with the very kind person who rented us the house. Laughing, he tells me that deluxe sugared almonds in other places cost a maximum of € 16 per kg and that no Avolese buys in the Presti confectionery! Disappointed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ci hanno venduto le mandorle...scoperto dopo l'apertura del sacchetto che trattavasi di mandorle di scarto di lavorazione a 20.00 euro al chilo. Le mandorle di Avola, la prima scelta, l'abbiamo poi pagata 12.00 euro al chilo. Certo che se si trattano cosi i turisti....complimenti!!
They sold us the almonds ... discovered after opening the bag that it was processed almonds at 20.00 euros per kilo. The Avola almonds, the first choice, we then paid 12.00 euros per kilo. Of course if you treat tourists like this .... congratulations!
