I ristoranti a base di stocco si trovano pure nel centro cittadino, selezionarli per qualità e servizio è una impresa. Mammola è famosa per lo stocco, ci sono anche tante piccole aziende di produzione agroalimentare di prodotti tipici della Calabria. The restaurants based on stockfish are also found in the city center, selecting them for quality and service is a business. Mammola is famous for the rapier, there are also many small agri-food companies producing typical products from Calabria.

Vanta una attività nella lavorazione dello stoccafisso (e baccalà) di grande pregio e risonanza nazionale (e oltre !). Abbiamo trovato persone cordiali, competenti ed estremamente disponibili. Non parliamo della ristorazione, tutta o quasi centrata sulla lavorazione dello stoccafisso/baccalà, con piatti che lasciano esterrefatti, per la qualità, la genuinità e l'elaborazione culinaria, che secondo me raggiunge livelli di alto professionismo (non esagero assolutamente !). Abbiamo (ovviamente) acquistato in loco adeguata scorta del prelibato prodotto e (altrettanto ovviamente) abbiamo gustato le preparazioni in uno dei ristoranti del paese (tutti ottimi, ci dicono). Io e mia moglie ne siamo rimasti entusiasti (!!!). Una simile meraviglia incastonata tra le alture calabresi, per ns. ignoranza, non la conoscevamo proprio. Però, frugando nell'antica storia del territorio (anche quello della Basilicata)...si riscoprono le radici di tutto questo (le antiche vie del sale.....). Torneremo... Small center within the territory, but active and lively. It boasts an activity in the processing of stockfish (and cod) of great value and national resonance (and beyond!). We found people to be friendly, knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We are not talking about catering, all or almost centered on the processing of stockfish / cod, with dishes that leave you astonished, for the quality, genuineness and culinary elaboration, which in my opinion reaches levels of high professionalism (I am not exaggerating at all!). We (obviously) bought an adequate supply of the delicious product on site and (just as obviously) we tasted the preparations in one of the restaurants in the town (all excellent, they tell us). My wife and I were thrilled (!!!). A similar marvel set among the Calabrian hills, for our ignorance, we just didn't know it. However, delving into the ancient history of the territory (including that of Basilicata) ... the roots of all this are rediscovered (the ancient salt routes .....). We'll be back...
