Frascineto è bel un borgo arbrëshe, di circa 2.000 abitanti, della provincia di Cosenza. Le origini risalgono all'epoca in cui Cristoforo Colombo scopriva l'America ( anno 1.492).
Fu infatti in quel periodo che, per sfuggire alle presecuzioni degli ottomani, molti albanesi scapparono nell'Italia meridionale, fondando diversi paesi e Frascineto è uno di questi.
Sono ancora vive le tradizioni del paese di origine, come le Valljie del martedì di Pasqua e si parla ancora la lingua albanese.
Vi si produce un ottimo vino DOC e oli extravergini di altissima qualità.
Interessanti le montagne intorno, il versante sud della Catena del Pollino, che formano quasi una ghirlanda.
Da visitare, fermandosi in uno degli ottimi B&B che si trovano nel borgo.
Facile da raggiungere, in quanto si trova sulla A2 del Mediterraneo.

Frascineto is a beautiful arbrëshe village of about 2,000 inhabitants in the province of Cosenza. The origins date back to the time when Christopher Columbus discovered America (year 1.492).
It was in fact at that time that, to escape the presecutions of the Ottomans, many Albanians fled to southern Italy, founding several countries and Frascineto is one of them.
The traditions of the country of origin are still alive, such as the Valljie on Easter Tuesday and the Albanian language is still spoken.
It produces an excellent DOC wine and extra virgin olive oils of the highest quality.
The surrounding mountains are interesting, the southern side of the Pollino chain, which almost form a garland.
To visit, stopping at one of the excellent B & Bs in the village.
Easy to reach, as it is located on the A2 of the Mediterranean.
