★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Am Nachmittag unternahmen wir eine kleine Erkundungstour durch unsere „Urlaubsheimat“ Urio. Der kleine langestreckte Ort liegt 7 km von Como entfernt und ist römischen Ursprungs. Über ihm ragt ein steiler Berg mit Steinbrüchen, aus dem einstmals Moltravio-Stein abgebaut wurde. Urio liegt direkt am Seeufer und hat einen eigenen Fähranleger. Uns hat das Ortsbild gefallen, mit seinen hübschen Häusern und Villen und den schmalen, steilen Wegen und Treppen, die den Hang hinauf führen. Baden kann man an einem kleinen Strand, der unterhalb der Kirche liegt.
In the afternoon we went on a little tour of discovery through our "vacation home" Urio. The small elongated place is 7 km from Como and is of Roman origin. A steep mountain rises above him with quarries from which Moltravio stone was once extracted. Urio is located directly on the lake shore and has its own ferry pier. We liked the townscape, with its pretty houses and villas and the narrow, steep paths and stairs that lead up the slope. You can swim on a small beach below the church.
