Volta, e con la collaborazione dei rettori dell'orto botanico di Pavia iniziò la coltivazione di piante rare ed esotiche. Il successivo proprietario G. B. Brambilla ampliò il fabbricato neoclassico con nuovi di gusto ottocentesco.
