★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissimo palazzo rinascimentale, ben restaurato, ampliato e decorato nel 1917.
Attualmente municipio del Comune di Sondrio, venne acquistato nel Cinquecento dall'allora dominazione grigionese per stabilire la sede del governo e della giustizia della Valtellina.
Anche in seguito ospitó una torre-carcere, aula di tribunale e amministrazione provinciale.
 Beautiful Renaissance palace, well restored, enlarged and decorated in 1917.
Currently town hall of the Municipality of Sondrio, it was purchased in the sixteenth century by the then Grisons domination to establish the seat of government and justice in Valtellina.
Also later it housed a prison tower, courtroom and provincial administration.

Interesting historical building of the sixteenth century in Sondrio, today seat of the municipality. Beautiful interior courtyard with portico and porch. Often a venue for exhibitions and shows.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L'attuale municipio di Sondrio ha origini nel cinquecento, quando era di proprietà di una nobile famiglia, i Pellegrini.
Poi è sempre stata una sede di governo, prima della città, poi dei Governatori grigionesi e poi sede di tribunale nel periodo napoleonico.
Ristrutturato con molto garbo nel 1915, è un piccolo scrigno d'arte.
Il suo "gioiello" più prezioso è la stupenda "Stua Rigamonti", che prende nome dai suoi ultimi proprietari, da cui il comune l'ha comprata nel 1954 per installarla nello studio del sindaco.
È formata da stupendi pannelli intarsiati, in noce ed in cembro, risalente al XVIII secolo.
The current town hall of Sondrio has its origins in the sixteenth century, when it was owned by a noble family, the Pellegrini.
Then it has always been a seat of government, first of the city, then of the Graubünden Governors and then the seat of the court in the Napoleonic period.
Refurbished with great grace in 1915, it is a small treasure trove of art.
Its most precious "jewel" is the wonderful "Stua Rigamonti", which takes its name from its last owners, from which the municipality bought it in 1954 to install it in the mayor's office.
It is made up of beautiful inlaid panels, in walnut and stone pine, dating back to the 18th century.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purtroppo ho visto solo il cortile d'ingresso perché non era accessibile al pubblico quando sono andata...comunque mi è bastato vedere quello...molto pulito e curato...da ritornare per vedere anche il resto del palazzo...consigliato!
Unfortunately I only saw the entrance courtyard because it was not accessible to the public when I went ... however it was enough for me to see the one ... very clean and well-kept ... to return to see the rest of the building ... recommended !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Il Palazzo Pretorio, che oggi è sede del Comune, è molto importante dal punto vista storico; risale all'XI secolo ed è legato a molte vicende sociali e politiche della città lombarda. Nel Cinquecento fu la sede del Governo Grigione e poi dei Governatori.
La facciata esterna presenta stemmi dei principali comuni della provincia, ornamenti rinascimentali, un portone cinquecentesco in bugnato a punta di diamante e, nel grazioso cortile di ingresso, un portico decorato con doppio loggiato e decorazioni.
A sinistra dell'ingresso un ufficio di informazioni turistiche.
Vale la pena fermarsi ad ammirarlo.
The Palazzo Pretorio, which today is the seat of the Municipality, is very important from a historical point of view; it dates back to the 11th century and is linked to many social and political events in the Lombard city. In the sixteenth century it was the seat of the Grigione government and then of the Governors.
The external façade has coats of arms of the main municipalities of the province, Renaissance ornaments, a sixteenth-century door in diamond-tipped ashlar and, in the graceful entrance courtyard, a portico decorated with a double loggia and decorations.
To the left of the entrance is a tourist information office.
It is worth stopping to admire it.
