Il centro abitato si trova in un avvallamento naturale a circa 30 km dal golfo di Taranto, ai piedi delle Murge tarantine, nel Salento nord-occidentale e a 2 km dalla spiaggia di Campomarino, frazione dello stesso comune.. Il comune fa parte del circuito de "I Borghi più belli d'Italia", unico della provincia di Taranto. Ha diverse belle chiese costruite tra il XV e il XVI secolo tra le quali la chiesa matrice, o chiesa madre, dedicata alla Natività della Vergine Maria. Belli i vicoli del centro storico. Maruggio is an Italian town of 5,257 inhabitants in the province of Taranto, in Puglia. The inhabited center is located in a natural valley about 30 km from the Gulf of Taranto, at the foot of the Taranto Murge, in north-western Salento and 2 km from the beach of Campomarino, part of the same municipality. The town is part of the circuit of "The most beautiful villages in Italy", the only one in the province of Taranto. It has several beautiful churches built between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries including the mother church, or mother church, dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary. E quindi va in vacanza con il proorio cane? Le spiagge per famiglie con cani dove sono? Non parliamo poi di sacchetti e appositi bidoni. Inesistenti! I wonder why dogs are not considered in this municipality. Did you know that 27.1% of Italian families have a dog? So you go on vacation with your dog? Where are the beaches for families with dogs? We are not talking about bags and special bins. Non-existent!

Un bellissimo b&b (il noce) Il 14 sera x evitare i menù fissi siamo andati nel centro storico di Maruggio. Abbiamo visto una macelleria "la stella del sud" che fa anche brace e ci ha ispirato la sua semplicità.piatti e bicchieri di plastica etc. Arrosto misto x2 1/2 l vino della casa €95 Poor man. Maruggio. We spent a wonderful week of wonderful sea. A beautiful b & b (il noce) On the 14th evening, to avoid the set menus, we went to the historic center of Maruggio. We saw a butcher's shop "the southern star" which also makes embers and inspired us by its simplicity. Plastic plates and glasses etc. Mixed Roast x2 1/2 l house wine € 95
K	Klára Jirásková on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pleasant little town a few km from the sea coast. Nice piazza and church, very clean with unspoilt local atmosphere. Thumbs up for banning the single-use plastics in the community and strict recycling policy which can be seen in the clean streets and lots of recycle bins. Here, you can eat in a restaurant and use real glasses and not to struggle with plastic fork. Great Infiorata decoration in the church. Bravo, sindaco, per evitare i plastici monouso! Ottima idea!
