Venne realizzata nel 1765 sui resti di un edificio religioso del 1230. La chiesa, voluta dal vescovo Arnolfo sotto il pontificato di papa Alessandro VII, è a croce latina ed in stile neoclassico. All'interno si conservano un crocifisso ligneo del Cinquecento, l'organo del 1723, la pala d'altare raffigurante San Nicola di Bari con la Vergine sul tetto della Santa Casa di Loreto e la copia della Madonna col Bambino di Rubens e di Carlo Maratta. L'edificio è affiancato dal campanile con una cupola a cuspide. Il nome del Comune deriva dal condottiero Sirio, al seguito del generale Belisario, a cui intorno all'anno 540 Giustiniano I donò il territorio di Sirolo, dopo la sconfitta dei Goti che avevano invaso il Piceno. Sirolo si trova a 125 m s.l.m., a sud ed alle pendici del Monte Conero e si affaccia sul mare Adriatico. La quasi totalità del suo territorio fa parte del Parco regionale del Conero. Nel 2011 Sirolo è stata oggetto di un francobollo (ritraente la spiaggia denominata delle "Due Sorelle"), in tiratura limitata ed anche per i collezionisti in lamina di argento. Tanto per cominciare causa covid i posti a sedere dovrebbero essere limitati ed invece le persone vengono stipate nei bus come se non ci fosse in corso una pandemia, secondo poi nessun controllo sul come vengono fatti salire i passeggeri nelle fermate più affollate , ad esempio il capolinea di risalita da spiaggia sassi neri, una folla si accalca davanti la porta di ingresso dell autobus, sulla maleducazione delle persone poco ci si può fare, ma Voi come comune avreste l obbligo di predisporre delle transenne per incanalare la fila . Quando faccio presente ciò alla signora che guida il bus si risente ed esclama testuale che si è rotta i co***ni ( di una maleducazione e cafonaggine senza precedenti) e di farlo presente al comune. Beh ecco qui ve lo faccio presente e spero che in molti possano leggere questo bel biglietto da visita. Ci sarebbe un altro bel capitolo da aprire su come fate prenotare le spiagge libere tramite app (sirolo/numana stessa minestra) missione impossibile prenotare però vi premurate di affigere manifesti in cui minacciate pesanti multe per chi non ha la prenotazione per la spiaggia libera. Visto che i servizi parcheggio e bus navetta ve li fate pagare e anche cari sarebbe il caso vi preoccupaste di offrire un servizio adeguato. Shameful public transport. Ho avuto modo di transitare in via Betelico e inviterei anche a lei a fare tale tragitto, però con la sua auto di proprietà non con l'auto del comune. D'estate, alla sera è molto piacevole fare una passeggiata nel centro, i negozi e le gelaterie sono tutti aperti... Di seguito qualche foto di sera, ma di giorno è spettacolare! Da visitare! Un paese che sembra in stato di abbandono. Erbacce, sporcizia, piante oramai secche nelle fioriere ovunque, non solo in centro.. neanche un bar dove poter prendere un caffè. Ho chiacchierato con alcuni commercianti aperti esprimendo il mio stupore e ho raccolto un enorme senso di disagio dei cittadini. Che peccato ???
