★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Purtroppo l'interno era parzialmente in restauro, la chiesa è comunque buia e non si riescono ad apprezzare i quadri, anch'essi scuri, probabilmente mai restaurati. Peccato perché l'architettura è particolare.
 Unfortunately, the interior was partially under restoration, the church is still dark and it is impossible to appreciate the paintings, which are also dark, probably never restored. Too bad because the architecture is particular.

Sede parrocchiale dal 1560, conserva un reliquiario della Sacra Spina (della corona di Cristo) e le spoglie del Beato Andrea Grego da Peschiera. È l'edificio barocco più importante della Valtellina e tra i più interessanti della Lombardia.
La chiesa, dalla sbalorditiva facciata elaborata secondo il più squisito barocchetto, vanta al suo interno un'opera di rilievo mondiale: La Madonna col Bambino e San Filippo Neri del veneziano Giambattista Pittoni del 1740.

The Collegiate Church of San Giovanni Battista is a collegiate church located in Morbegno dating back to the 17th-18th centuries and consecrated to San Giovanni Battista.
Parish seat since 1560, it preserves a reliquary of the Holy Thorn (of the crown of Christ) and the remains of Blessed Andrea Grego da Peschiera. It is the most important Baroque building in Valtellina and one of the most interesting in Lombardy.
The church, with its stunning façade elaborated according to the most exquisite baroque style, boasts a world-renowned work inside: The Madonna with Child and San Filippo Neri by the Venetian Giambattista Pittoni of 1740.
