C	CARLO BON on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Una cappella dedicata a Sant'Anna del XVIII secolo, una delle tante disseminate per le campagne della diocesi di Sant'Agata de' goti ed edificata nel 1715. Il piccolo edificio, isolato dal contesto della contrada e affiancata dal poderoso convento religioso - ormai in abbandono e dalla precaria stabilità - risulta semplice e armoniosa nella sua struttura. La facciata ad intonaco presenta in alto un piccolo timpano dai lati ricurvi e due acroteri posti agli spigoli, un arco ribassato e con cancello in ferro originario permette l'acesso all'interno della cappela, preceduto da un piccolo vestibolo. Sul lato destro della facciata è murata un'iscrizione su marmo in latino volgare del '700 che attesta l'anno dell'edificazione della capella alla "Divinae Annae" (1715), i committenti, il beneplacito e la benedizione del Vescovo della Diocesi. L'interno, ad unica navata e con volta a botte è ariosa nella sua semplicità e proporzioni. Cornici, teste di cherubini e serafini in stucco bianco del Settecento - che rispecchiano in pieno lo stile barocco locale - sono le uniche decorazioni interne alla capella. L'altare maggiore, preceduto dal brevissimo transetto, è caratterizzato da una sontuosa cornice barocca in stucco e dominata dall'alto dalla presenza di un serafino dallo sguardo enigmatico; un tempo questo altare- cornice conteneva un pregevole olio su tela raffigurante Sant' Anna e Maria bambina, opera di un ignoto pittore locale, certamente della scuola napoletana del Settecento. Tale dipinto venne trafugato verso la metà degli anni '80 e da lì si è persa di esso qualunque traccia. Al suo posto anni fa e forse per sopperire il vuoto imbarazzante entro la cornice dell'altare, è stata ricavata una nicchia nella parete ed in cui posizionare le statue di Sant'Anna e Maria, opera napoletana in cartapesta del XIX secolo. A chapel dedicated to Sant'Anna from the 18th century, one of the many scattered around the countryside of the diocese of Sant'Agata de 'goti and built in 1715. The small building, isolated from the context of the district and flanked by the powerful religious convent - now abandoned and precariously stable - is simple and harmonious in its structure. The plaster façade has a small tympanum on the top with curved sides and two acroteria placed at the corners, a lowered arch with an original iron gate allows access to the interior of the chapel, preceded by a small vestibule. On the right side of the façade is an inscription on marble in vulgar Latin from the 1700s that attests the year of the construction of the chapel to the "Divinae Annae" (1715), the patrons, the consent and the blessing of the Bishop of the Diocese. The interior, with a single nave and a barrel vault, is airy in its simplicity and proportions. Frames, heads of cherubs and seraphs in white stucco of the eighteenth century - which fully reflect the local Baroque style - are the only decorations inside the chapel. The high altar, preceded by the very short transept, is characterized by a sumptuous Baroque stucco frame and dominated from above by the presence of a seraphim with an enigmatic look; once this altar-frame contained a valuable oil on canvas depicting Saint Anne and Mary as a child, the work of an unknown local painter, certainly from the Neapolitan school of the eighteenth century. This painting was stolen in the mid-1980s and any trace of it was lost from it. In its place years ago and perhaps to compensate for the embarrassing emptiness within the frame of the altar, a niche was obtained in the wall and in which to place the statues of Sant'Anna and Maria, a Neapolitan work in papier-mache of the nineteenth century.
