D	Domenico Luciano Moretti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Forse qui sorgeva la chiesa attestata già nel 1100, ma le prime notizie certe di hanno grazie all’elenco delle decime del 1300 dove è citata nel plebanato di S. Giovanni in Triario. La chiesa sorge al centro dell'abitato, alla fine di una traversa di via San Donato, asse viario che la unisce con la città di Bologna. La chiesa presenta oggi una facciata a salienti in mattoni a vista, mentre l’interno è purtroppo decorato in stile barocco che ne ha fatto perdere lo stile originario. La chiesa infatti fu ricostruita nel 1682 per volontà del parroco Torri. Al suo interno conserva una pala d’altare della chiesa precedente dove vi è rappresentato San Vitale con Sant'Andrea. Ci sono inoltre vari dipinti di pittori di scuola bolognese, di particolare interesse un San Girolamo attribuito al Guercino e degli affreschi di Elisabetta Sirani. Una bella chiesa che meriterebbe un attento restauro per riportarla al suo antico splendore. Nonostante la sua ricostruzione nel XVII secolo, che ha distrutto la precedente chiesa, consiglio una visita, sopratutto per ammirare i dipinti al suo interno. Perhaps the church once stood here, attested as early as 1100, but the first certain news of it is thanks to the list of tithes from 1300 where it is mentioned in the parish church of S. Giovanni in Triario. The church stands in the center of the town, at the end of a side street of via San Donato, the road axis that connects it with the city of Bologna. The church today has a salient facade in exposed brick, while the interior is unfortunately decorated in a Baroque style which has made it lose its original style. The church was in fact rebuilt in 1682 by the will of the parish priest Torri. Inside it preserves an altarpiece from the previous church where San Vitale with Sant'Andrea is represented. There are also various paintings by painters of the Bolognese school, of particular interest a San Girolamo attributed to Guercino and the frescoes by Elisabetta Sirani. A beautiful church that deserves a careful restoration to bring it back to its former glory. Despite its reconstruction in the 17th century, which destroyed the previous church, I recommend a visit, especially to admire the paintings inside.
