V	Vincenzo Lo Re on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa parrocchiale di Isola delle Femmine, Maria SS delle Grazie, si affaccia sulla Piazza Umberto ed è stata edificata dal popolo in diverse epoche. Dal 1850 al 1903 la chiesa subisce diverse modifiche. In principio era una piccola chiesa in rustico con una navata, nel 1860 furono acquisite alcune case confinanti alla chiesa e si costruì la Clicca per Ingrandire la navata di destra con quattro cappelle e l'altare. Nel 1903 la collaborazione del popolo e del Curato Sacerdote Pietro Mannino, permise il restauro della piccola chiesa. Si costruì la volta della navata maggiore, si fece il riempimento per mettere a livello tutto il pavimento della chiesa con quello della piazza. Anni dopo si costruì la navata di sinistra con altre quattro cappelle, il campanile, e si definì la pavimentazione. Infine la chiesa fu abbellita con la realizzazione di un magnifico prospetto e il marciapiede all’ingresso. Nel 1995 è stata consacrata come Santuario della Madonna delle Grazie. La festività di Maria SS delle Grazie, Patrona di Isola delle Femmine, ricade come ogni anno il 2 luglio in occasione del quale il Comitato della Madonna così come tutti gli Isolani partecipano all'organizzazione dell'evento con addobbi, giochi artificiali e fiere. Fu elevata a Parrocchia e quindi separata dalla chiesa Parrocchiale di Capaci intorno al 1934 e divenne Santuario Mariano intorno al 1995. Non c'è niente di rilevante dal punto di vista storico artistico. La festa cade per il 02 luglio. Ma sopratutto per fare visita a un santuario mariano riconosciuto tale dove primeggia per l'appunto la devozione alla SS. Madonna delle Grazie ? It's a sanctuary of Our Lady of Graces, so it's a gathering point for the locals as the city's square is found right in front of it and behind us the sea while on its right side is the high mountainous side. It draws religious tourists as well as sightseers. The murals inside the Church is of interest and the legendary story behind the miracles of Our Lady of Graces with fishermen on the sea is particularly interesting too. Above all, the feast of the Church and that of the city - July 2 - draws all and sundry on a four hour procession with the statue of Our Lady of Graces (Madonna delle Grazie) which ends with a seaside fireworks display. It was a month summer visit and I enjoyed every bit of the seaside city. I will visit again.
