★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Solo i ricordi di ragazzo salvano il luogo, che più che nella struttura della chiesa (artisticamente poco appetibile) affondano nelle radici di belle e profonde esperienze, amicizie e cammini.Ai miei occhi questi non è più e spero proprio che sia solo esperienza soggettiva.
Only the memories of a boy save the place, which more than in the structure of the church (artistically not very attractive) sink into the roots of beautiful and profound experiences, friendships and paths. To my eyes these are no longer and I really hope it is only subjective experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ L’edificio, risalente all’anno 1730 è il più imponente edificio per il culto edificato in Sapri. La sua ubicazione nella piazza più importante della cittadina determinò la collocazione della fabbrica religiosa in posizione avanzata rispetto alla linea dei fabbricati che presumibilmente cingevano l’intera area della piazza stessa. Tale obbligata collocazione valorizza enormemente le prospettive, sia della piazza che dell’edificio religioso.Il portale in bronzo, opera del prof. Carucci è stato posto in opera nell’aprile del 1983, a cura dei padri Stimmatini. La scultura del portale, nel quale è visibile il golfo di Sapri, rappresenta la guida dei santi S.Vito ( Patrono del paese), S.Francesco di Paola e S.Gaspare Bertoni (fondatore dell’Ordine degli Stimmatini) del popolo saprese, con l’intercessione della Madonna Immacolata (alla Quale la chiesa è dedicata), al raggiungimento delle più alte mete spirituali, rappresentate nella Crocifissione e Resurrezione di Gesù Cristo.
L’opera, pregna di simboli, si integra perfettamente nella storia religiosa saprese della Chiesa Madre. (RIF. COMUNE Sapri)
The building, dating back to the year 1730, is the most impressive building for worship built in Sapri. Its location in the most important square of the town determined the location of the religious building in an advanced position with respect to the line of buildings that presumably surrounded the entire area of the square itself. This obligatory location greatly enhances the perspectives, both of the square and of the religious building. The bronze portal, the work of prof Carucci was installed in April 1983, by the Stimmatini fathers. The sculpture of the portal, in which the gulf of Sapri is visible, represents the guide of the saints S. Vito (patron saint of the town), S. Francesco di Paola and S. Gaspar Bertoni (founder of the Order of the Stimmatini) of the Sapri people, with the intercession of the Immaculate Madonna (to whom the church is dedicated), to the achievement of the highest spiritual goals, represented in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
The work, full of symbols, is perfectly integrated into the Saprese religious history of the Mother Church. (REF. MUNICIPALITY Sapri)
