★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Piazza annessa alla chiesa molto grande, parroco gentilissimo e disponibile. Spesso noi musicisti facciamo musica davanti all'ingresso in occasione di manifestazioni e mercatini. Il Don é sempre lì a divertirsi con tutti noi.
Piazza attached to very large church, very kind and friendly pastor. Often we musicians make music outside the entrance at events and markets. The Don is always there to have fun with all of us.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aus einem Oratorium entstand die erste Vorgängerkirche. 1594 wurde die Pfarrei S. Giovanni Battista gegründet und wenig später 1601 die neue Kirche errichtet. Die Jahrhunderte vergingen bis 1944 einen Luftangriff große Teile der Stadt mit dem Gotteshaus zerstörten. Der jetzige Bau im modernen schlichten Stiel geht auf das Jahr 1956 zurück.
Der Kirchbau mit großem gepflastertem Vorplatz wirkt auf mich etwas kühl.
The first predecessor church was created from an oratory. In 1594 the parish of S. Giovanni Battista was founded and a little later in 1601 the new church was built. Centuries passed until 1944 when an air raid destroyed large parts of the city and the church. The current building in a modern, simple style dates back to 1956.
The church building with a large paved forecourt seems a bit cool to me.
