Le mura in opera reticolata presentano delle irregolarità nell’esecuzione che, insieme alla facciata con la lesena in asse, avvicina le sue caratteristiche architettoniche alle tecniche medievali. I cubilia di pietra lavica leucitica sono stati probabilmente ricavati da un edificio di epoca romana (G. Ortolani, Aspetti costruttivi in chiese medievali del territorio di Bracciano, in AA VV, Antichità Tardo romane e Medievali nel territorio di Bracciano, pp. 100-124, Roma: 1991). The church of Santa Caterina d’Alessandria in Trevignano Romano was built in the second half of the fifteenth century by incorporating and renovating a pre-existing church of the eleventh-twelfth century. The reticulated walls present some irregularities in the execution which, together with the facade with the pilaster in axis, brings its architectural characteristics closer to medieval techniques. The leucitic lava stone cubilia were probably obtained from a Roman building (G. Ortolani, Constructive aspects in medieval churches in the territory of Bracciano, in AA VV, Late Roman and Medieval Antiquities in the territory of Bracciano, pp. 100-124, Rome: 1991).

Le murature esterne mostrano il reimpiego di una struttura preesistente di epoca romana, evidenziata dalla caratteristica muratura nota come opus reticolatum. All'interno ci sono frammenti di affreschi. The small church hidden in a clearing behind the Town Hall is a gem and offers the opportunity to observe the evolution of medieval architecture typical of the mendicant orders: the single-ship hall with side chapels. The external walls show the reuse of a pre-existing structure from the Roman era, highlighted by the characteristic masonry known as opus reticolatum. Inside there are fragments of frescoes.
