Il nome Puccianiello lo si trova citato per la prima volta nella bolla del 1113 emessa dal vescovo metropolita Sennete di Capua. In questa bolla, Sennete conferma, al vescovo Rainulfo di Caserta, la chiesa di "S. Andrea di Puczanello", così come le altre del circondario.
DescrizioneLa chiesa parrocchiale di S. Andrea Apostolo si presenta con un sagrato antistante la facciata settecentesca a tre portali ed un campanile a tre ordini. L'interno presenta una pianta basilicata a tre navate divise da archi poggiati su pilastri. Di notevole interesse la zona presbiteriale caratterizzata a tre cupole su tamburo evidenziato da comici marcapiano in piperno. I più recenti restauri hanno messo in luce sulla controfacciata un antico portale ogivale al cui interno si trova un affresco quattrocentesco e il fonte battesimale. Di pregevole fattura sono gli altari in marmo policromo, gli stucchi, una tela seicentesca, una tela settecentesca, un olio su tavola del XIV secolo e un'altra della metà del XVI' secolo.

The name Puccianiello is mentioned for the first time in the 1113 bull issued by the metropolitan bishop Sennete of Capua. In this bull, Sennete confirms, to the bishop Rainulfo of Caserta, the church of "S. Andrea di Puczanello", as well as the others in the district.
Description The parish church of S. Andrea Apostolo has a churchyard in front of the eighteenth-century facade with three portals and a bell tower with three orders. The interior has a basilicata plan with three naves divided by arches resting on pillars. Of particular interest is the presbytery area characterized by three domes on a drum highlighted by string courses in piperno. The most recent restorations have brought to light on the counter-façade an ancient ogival portal inside which there is a fifteenth-century fresco and the baptismal font. The polychrome marble altars, the stuccos, a seventeenth-century canvas, an eighteenth-century canvas, an oil on panel from the fourteenth century and another from the mid-sixteenth century are of exquisite workmanship.
