★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Giovanni Battista, si trova San Giovanni di Duino, a due passi dalle Foci del Timavo e dalla chiesa di San Giovanni in Tuba.
La chiesa venne costruita nel 1932 su progetto dell'architetto Angiolo Mazzoni.
In una nicchia della facciata della chiesa è posta una statua di San Giovanni Battista.
La scalinata che porta al piazzale antistante è molto bella, antica, peccato che sia poco curata, ma la chiesa è davvero meravigliosa, caratterizzata da uno stile contemporaneo in pietra bianca di Aurisina, con lavorazioni particolari effettuate da maestri scalpellini della zona. Purtroppo essendo chiusa, non è stato possibile visitarla all'interno, peccato. Merita davvero una visita
The church of San Giovanni Battista, is located in San Giovanni di Duino, a stone's throw from the Foci del Timavo and the church of San Giovanni in Tuba.
The church was built in 1932 on a project by the architect Angiolo Mazzoni.
A statue of St. John the Baptist is placed in a niche on the facade of the church.
The staircase leading to the square in front of it is very beautiful, ancient, it is a pity that it is poorly maintained, but the church is truly wonderful, characterized by a contemporary style in white Aurisina stone, with special work carried out by master stonemasons of the area. Unfortunately, being closed, it was not possible to visit it inside, too bad. Really worth a visit
