Quello che non può essere accettato è il numero alto di piccioni che con i loro escrementi distruggono l'esterno. Ci sono statue all'esterno che sono diventate il nido dei piccioni così come un bellissimo portico visibile sia dall'interno che dall'esterno della chiesa pieno di strisce bianche: escrementi lasciati dai piccioni. Investire sulla salvaguardia dei monumenti significa risparmiare nel tempo denaro. The church is very beautiful and well kept inside. What cannot be accepted is the high number of pigeons that destroy the outside with their excrement. There are statues on the outside that have become the pigeons' nest as well as a beautiful porch visible from both the inside and outside of the church full of white streaks: droppings left by pigeons. Investing in the preservation of monuments means saving money over time.

L’edificio interamente in pietra di classico stampo medievale contribuisce, insieme al loggiato di fianco, a rendere caratteristico il borgo. Merita una sosta anche in considerazione del comodo parcheggio coperto che si trova a pochi passi dal centro storico. A marvelous portal giving access to the church and embellishing the square. The building entirely in stone of classic medieval mold contributes, together with the loggia on the side, to make the village characteristic. Worth a stop also in consideration of the convenient covered parking which is just a short walk from the historic center.

Collocata nella parte antica del paese è facilmente raggiungibile da un parcheggio sottostante servito da un comodissimo ascensore. Molto ben tenuta e conservata la struttura che ha diversi secoli. A	Antonio Vergallo on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Le chiesa Cattedrale di Santa Maria Maggiore, di Guardiagrele, rappresenta il punto massimo dell'arte gotica guardiese, realizzata in pietra locale della Majella. Fu costruita nel XII secolo sopra i resti di un tempio romano del V^ secolo d.C.. La facciata è occupata quasi interamente dal campanile quadrangolare, su cui è posto alla base un portale della prima metà del XV secolo in stile gotico abruzzese. Esternamente è una costruzione maestosa e molto ben tenuta. L'interno, purtroppo, non l'ho potuto visitare perché durante la mia visita la chiesa era chiusa. The Cathedral church of Santa Maria Maggiore, of Guardiagrele, represents the pinnacle of Guardia Gothic art, made of local Majella stone. It was built in the 12th century over the remains of a Roman temple from the 5th century AD. The facade is almost entirely occupied by the quadrangular bell tower, on which a portal from the first half of the 15th century in Abruzzo Gothic style is placed at the base. Externally it is a majestic and very well maintained building. Unfortunately, I was unable to visit the interior because the church was closed during my visit.
V	Virna Tagliatti on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chiesa Santa Maria Maggiore, di stile romanico, è stata costruita interamente in pietra della Majella. L'interno, a navata unica con quattro altari per lato, conserva un bel pulpito in noce intagliato del XVIII sec. e vari dipinti. Presenta una particolare facciata in gran parte occupata dalla torre campanaria del XIII sec., alla cui base si apre un bel portale ogivale del '400, nella cui lunetta è collocata una scultura del 1394 che raffigura l'Incoronazione di Maria tra quattro angeli. Sui lati esterni della chiesa vi sono due porticati. In quello di sinistra, una bella loggia ad archi acuti, si può ammirare una particolare edicola decorata con stucchi che circondano l'affresco della Madonna del Latte. All'inizio del porticato opposto va ammirato un grande affresco del 1473 che raffigura S. Cristoforo, opera di Andrea De Litio. Nella cripta è allestito un interessante Museo Diocesano. Assolutamente da vedere. Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, in Romanesque style, was built entirely in Majella stone. On the external sides of the church there are two arcades. In the one on the left, a beautiful loggia with pointed arches, you can admire a particular aedicule decorated with stuccoes surrounding the fresco of the Madonna del Latte. At the beginning of the opposite portico there is a large fresco from 1473 depicting St. Christopher, the work of Andrea De Litio. An interesting Diocesan Museum is set up in the crypt. A must see.
