★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During my stay in Trieste I came twice each day for a cicolata calda in a piccolo cup (ladled from a pot). It was so heavenly creamy and intensely dark and is served with a spoon, so can enjoy it properly bit by bit. You can also choose from a variety of toppings (heavy cream, spices e.g. cinnamon, salt, cardamom etc.). The owner of the shop (?) was very lovely. They have a wide selection of pralines, cookies and ice cream as well.
