La vallata dove si trova questo paesino sembra veramente una località di montagna lontana dai grandi centri abitati, ma ci sono tutte le comodità per raggiungere tutto quello che serve in pochissimo tempo. In una giornata tranquilla con pochi visitatori anche solo sostare sulle panchine di fronte alla chiesetta è una ricarica per l'anima! Luogo adatto anche ai bambini piccoli. Cani sempre al guinzaglio. Beautiful little church in a fantastic place out of this world. The valley where this village is located really looks like a mountain location far from the big inhabited centers, but there are all the comforts to reach everything you need in a very short time. On a quiet day with few visitors, even just standing on the benches in front of the church is a recharge for the soul! Place also suitable for small children. Dogs always on a leash.

G	Giovanni Maria Carrera on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Da Porto Valtravaglia o, meglio ancora da Mesenzana, per correndo una strada difficilissima, si arriva a questo pianoro sotto la cima del Monte San Michele dove sorge una incantevole chiesetta risalente ai secoli X-XI. Esternamente appare molto semplice, in stile romanico. La sorpresa è all'interno dove fa bella mostra di sé un pregevole ciclo di affreschi, databile ad epoche differenti tra il XII e il XVI secolo. Raffigurano la Madonna in Trono con Sant'Antonio Abate e San Bernardo, San Miche con Angeli, Abramo e Iasacco e, in controfacciata San Michele e Sant'Ambrogio. From Porto Valtravaglia or even better from Mesenzana for running a very difficult road, you come to this plateau below the summit of Mount San Michele, where stands a beautiful church dating back to the centuries X-XI. Externally it appears very simple, in Romanesque style. The surprise is inside, where a fine cycle of frescoes shows off, dating back to different eras between the 12th and 16th centuries. They depict the Madonna Enthroned with Saint Anthony Abbot and San Bernardo, San Miche with the Angels, Abraham and Iasacco and on the opposite wall St. Michael and St. Ambrose.

Solo negli ultimi anni, con un restauro, il recupero di preziosi affreschi l'ha riportata a un posto di rispetto nell'ambito del romanico lombardo. Ha una struttura molto semplice: un'aula absidata di circa 30 metri quadri, con abside orientata ad est secondo l'uso antico nel quale si trovano le parti più antiche databili all' XI secolo. San Michele al Monte is a small mountain church that was built to guarantee participation in religious functions for people who lived in the mountains during the spring and summer, to follow the grazing cattle. Only in recent years, with a restoration, has the recovery of precious frescoes brought it back to a place of respect in the Lombard Romanesque. It has a very simple structure: an apsed hall of about 30 square meters, with an apse oriented to the east according to the ancient use in which the oldest parts dating back to the 11th century are found.
