L	LORENZO MARTINI on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Discreto l'impianto basilicale e superbo sulla destra dell'Altar Maggiore il Crocefisso del XIV secolo e anche l'Assunzione in stile tardo bizantino sopra la Mensa dello stesso Altare (trattasi di un'opera del XI secolo). Poi vi sono tantissime tele di ignoto locale che emulava gli scolare di Giordano pittore: sono in ottime condizioni, ma sono completamente al buio!!! Non si leggono le figure e i paesaggi.....Diciamo che costituiscono l'esthetique du cirque, tipica della chiese del Mezzogiorno, dove il popolo nei scoli addietro si recava a messa come negli anni 50 del XX secolo andava al cinematografo e imparava la storia e l'iconografia! Comunque so che c'è un professore del Nord che assicura che sono opere da attribuire senz'altro a Giordano in tarda età.....Lo escludo a priori! The basilica layout is discreet and superb on the right of the High Altar the 14th century Crucifix and also the Assumption in late Byzantine style above the Mensa of the same Altar (it is a work of the 11th century). Then there are many canvases by an unknown local who emulated Giordano painter's schoolchildren: they are in excellent condition, but they are completely in the dark !!! You do not read the figures and landscapes ..... Let's say that they constitute the esthetique du cirque, typical of the churches of the South, where the people in the drains went back to mass as in the 50s of the twentieth century they went to the cinema and learned the history and iconography! However I know that there is a professor from the North who assures that they are works to be attributed certainly to Giordano in old age ..... I exclude him a priori!
