s	silvia pecina quintero on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dall’informazione che abbiamo, si presuppone che se il 21 di marzo 1208 la chiesa di Santo Stefano venne staccata da Piede di Cadore e dichiarata plebea, una chiesa de’essere esistita almeno uno o due secoli prima. Non si sa quante volte la chiesa sia stata rifatta prima del 1478. Fra Tommaso Simonetti da Ancona nel 1665, offriva un progetto di ricostruzione della chiesa e il 18 maggio ne iniziavano i lavori. Compiuta la nuova chiesa nel 1675, era consacrata nel 1684. Ha tre navate con sette altari, bassa, col tetto a due grandi spioventi. Il portico neoclassico della facciata è del 1817, sul timpano è affrescato il martirio di Santo Stefano di Glaucio B. Tiozzo, 1973 di Mirano, Venezia. Cristoforo Monforte di Milano ha eseguito 15 pitture negli anni 1672-74: sono i quindici titolari delle chiese delle regole del Comelico i due quadroni nel coro (Ultima Cena e il Serpente di bronzo innalzato da Mosè). Una rete di parrocchiani volontari molto solida che anima le attività della comunità cristiana per le celebrazioni ma anche per le iniziative di carità come i mercatini e la pesca di beneficenza. Complimenti per l'ottima organizzazione. The church of Santo Stefano di Cadore: ancient place of prayer and hope of many generations, full of history since 1670 but even today the faith of the inhabitants and guests is still alive. A very solid network of volunteer parishioners that animates the activities of the Christian community for celebrations but also for charity initiatives such as markets and charity fishing.
