The Parish Church of Santi Gervasio e Protasio is placed in a dominant position on Piazza Kuerc, which can be reached from Piazza Cavour, after having walked the pedestrian street (Via Roma) in the historic center of Bormio. The imposing façade is raised from the churchyard. On the right side there is the polychrome bell tower that is well known even from afar. The interior has a single nave, enriched by deep side chapels. We were struck by the many wooden works, such as the entrance portal, the pulpit with a balcony next to it full of sculptures, the thrones next to the altar and above all the complex, which houses the organ at the top and the deposed Christ watched over by Mary and the Apostles below. From the churchyard you have a great view of Kuerc Square and the tower of the same name.

A very beautiful place! You feel protected! Today I listened to the organ in the service. Its godlike!!! I have never heard anything like it in my life. Every time I come to Bormio I go to this church, that would just put a candle for my family and friends, and just relax in silence !!!

Beautiful church in a dominant position on the main square of Bormio. Of ancient origin, it was practically rebuilt from its foundations in 1641, following the fire that destroyed it in 1621 during the religious wars. The Lamentation is carved in wood and placed in the last chapel on the left towards the altar.

Ospita importanti pale d'altare e quadri d'autore.
The first church was of very ancient origin ... it even dates back to the time of Charlemagne, (803) but was destroyed by Swiss troops in 1621. Rebuilt 8 years later it became an "important vicariate. It houses important altarpieces and paintings by the author.

Very nice church in the piazza. The Collegiata Church is a well-known church in Bormio, Italy. It is dedicated to the patron saints of the city, Saints Gervasius and Protasius. The Collegiata Church was first built in the 9th century, but then rebuilt after being nearly destroyed in a fire in 1621.
