★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nata come oratorio della vicina villa di Galceto, deve la sua origine a un oratorio dedicato prima a san Giustino e poi a sant'Isidoro, documentato dal 1638.
L'aspetto attuale risale però a lavori condotti nella seconda metà dell'Ottocento, quando nella villa abitarono importanti personalità russe.
Oggi chiesa parrocchiale, è caratterizzato da una facciata dotata di pronao in muratura, arricchito da una serliana con membrature in pietra artificiale, pilastri tuscanici e un timpano triangolare.
All'interno, dall'aspetto neoclassico, si nota un arcone ellittico del presbiterio su cui sono dipinti angeli risalenti agli anni trenta del Novecento. Poggia su robuste colonne ioniche.
Sul presbiterio una cupoletta cieca è decorata da un'Assunzione della Vergine del pistoiese Pietro Ulivi, che aveva anche dipinto gli Evangelisti nei pennacchi, oggi perduti e sostituiti da angeli, sempre degli anni trenta.
In controfacciata un'acquasantiera neoclassica in marmo a forma di conchiglia. La tela con Santa Maria Maddalena è opera della fine del XX secolo di Simona Bruni.
Vi fu sepolto il politico e generale dell'Impero russo Arsenij Andreevič Zakrevskij nel 1865.
Born as an oratory of the nearby villa of Galceto, it owes its origin to an oratory dedicated first to Saint Justin and then to Saint Isidore, documented since 1638.
The current appearance, however, dates back to works carried out in the second half of the nineteenth century, when important Russian personalities lived in the villa.
Today a parish church, it is characterized by a facade with a masonry pronaos, enriched by a serliana with artificial stone members, Tuscan pillars and a triangular tympanum.
Inside, with a neoclassical appearance, there is an elliptical arch of the presbytery on which angels dating back to the 1930s are painted. It rests on sturdy Ionic columns.
On the presbytery, a small blind dome is decorated with an Assumption of the Virgin by Pietro Ulivi from Pistoia, who had also painted the Evangelists in the pendentives, now lost and replaced by angels, also from the 1930s.
On the counter façade a neoclassical marble stoup in the shape of a shell. The canvas with Santa Maria Maddalena is the work of the late twentieth century by Simona Bruni.
The politician and general of the Russian Empire Arsenij Andreevich Zakrevsky was buried there in 1865.
