What to say? I was born in Arrone. There are the paintings behind the altar which was the study done for the paintings of the Cathedral of Spoleto. Those at the top are 500 years old! Come and visit us!

A beautiful church, inside you can admire some really suggestive frescoes

The church of Santa Maria Assunta is a building of Catholic worship built at the beginning of the fifteenth century outside the castle of Arrone, in a recently formed district that took the name of "Santa Maria district". The church has three naves, separated by large arches on octagonal pillars and ending in the facade on three portals. The central portal is dated 1493 and its lunette is decorated with a fresco of the Virgin and angels. The façade also serves as a bell tower. The central apse and the arch were frescoed in 1515/1516 by Vincenzo Tamagni and Giovanni da Spoleto. The iconographic theme is that of the Stories of the Virgin, the same as that of the cathedral of Spoleto, the mother church frescoed by Filippo Lippi. Below the Dormition of Mary and the Nativity, in the basin "the coronation of the Virgin", assumed into heaven. The side apses, on the other hand, contain seventeenth-century frescoes. The left apse also contains notable 16th century terracotta sculptures Other significant works of art contained in the building are: The fresco of the "Madonna del Rosario", placed in the right aisle and attributed to Giuseppe Bastioni (1609); The "Madonna and Child with Saints Peter and John the Evangelist" from the seventeenth century, attributed to Francesco Cozza; The predella of a triptych from 1487, the work of the "Maestro di Arrone", but no longer exhibited because it was stolen in 1971

A pearl handed down by our ancestors, immersed in an ancient village of Valnerina. The completely frescoed apse is a marvel that you would not think you will encounter in such a small village and instead ... a magnificent place to reconcile with God!

The building, erected just outside the walls of the castle of Arrone, has a four-pitched facade with a bell gable and three portals; the central one dated 1493, preserves in the lunette a fresco depicting the Madonna and the Angels.
