★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima Chiesa in posizione centrale ad Auronzo. Scendendo la gradinata e attraversando la strada si arriva nell'omonima piazza che d'estate ospita tante manifestazioni e si gode di un bellissimo panorama.
Beautiful Church in a central position in Auronzo. Going down the steps and crossing the road you arrive in the square of the same name which in summer hosts many events and offers a beautiful view.

Beautiful church, the largest in Auronzo, well furnished with various statues and paintings, both paintings and murals. The organ and the main altar are characteristic. Definitely worth a visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa attuale risale alla seconda metà del 1700 quando andò a sostituire completamente il precedente edificio del XV secolo del quale è sopravvissuto solo il campanile (sopraelevato, comunque, nel 1737).
Colpisce l'aspetto esterno assolutamente semplice e spoglio tipico, comunque, di molte chiese del Cadore e che contrasta con l'interno tardo barocco ricco di marmi, dipinti, stucchi, opere in legno.
Purtroppo di questo ricco apparato decorativo pochissimo ho potuto vedere a causa di importanti lavori di restauro che hanno coinvolto praticamente tutta la navata ed il presbiterio.
Sarà per la prossima volta.
The current church dates back to the second half of the 1700s when it completely replaced the previous 15th century building of which only the bell tower survived (raised, however, in 1737).
It strikes the absolutely simple and bare external aspect typical, however, of many churches of the Cadore and which contrasts with the late Baroque interior rich in marble, paintings, stuccos, wooden works.
Unfortunately, I have been able to see very little of this rich decorative structure due to major restoration works that involved practically the entire nave and presbytery.
Maybe next time.
