L’oratorio di S. Rocco, terminato nel 1844, è un perfetto esempio di organismo neoclassico a pianta centrale. Il Bovara, che ne è l’autore, sembra qui particolarmente sensibile all’insegnamento del Cagnola, maestro di spazi originati da forme geometriche semplici, come il quadrato, il cerchio o anche il triangolo. E questi spazi elementari non dovevano avere decorazioni perchè, come voleva il Lodoli nelle sue lettere sull’architettura: « niente ha da vedersi in una fabbrica che non abbia il suo proprio ufficio ». La pianta dell’oratorio di S. Rocco inscrive lo spazio interno a croce greca in una struttura esterna quadrata preceduta da un portico a colonne doriche e tagliata in orizzontale da una breve gronda., voluta evidentemente per snellire il rapporto dimensionale delle pareti. La cupola che chiude l’interno è rivelata all’esterno da un breve timpano circolare che interrompe le quattro falde del tetto. It has recently been restored; while the exterior has been respected, the church has undergone some ill-advised interventions inside that have distorted its values. The oratory of S. Rocco, completed in 1844, is a perfect example of a neoclassical organism with a central plan. Bovara, who is the author, here seems particularly sensitive to the teaching of Cagnola, a master of spaces originating from simple geometric shapes, such as the square, the circle or even the triangle. And these elementary spaces did not have to have decorations because, as Lodoli wanted in his letters on architecture: "nothing has to be seen in a factory that does not have its own office". The plan of the oratory of S. Rocco inscribes the internal space as a Greek cross in an external square structure preceded by a portico with Doric columns and cut horizontally by a short eaves, evidently intended to streamline the dimensional ratio of the walls. The dome that closes the interior is revealed on the outside by a short circular tympanum that interrupts the four pitches of the roof.
