It is the oldest consecrated church in Bari. Built during the Byzantine domination, probably towards the end of the 10th century, it retains its Romanesque appearance with the tripartite facade corresponding to the three internal naves.

It is one of the oldest churches in Bari. Indeed, it seems to be the oldest by far. It is located in the middle of the historic center and is adjacent to the basilica of Bari, or the Church of San Nicola. Its origins seem to date back to the tenth century and it is a Byzantine church.

Essa appartenne agli Adralisto, una famiglia di origine bizantina, che fu coinvolta nelle lotte cittadine medioevali, al punto da subire la distruzione delle proprie case. L'edificio fu donato, con atto del 22 novembre 1308, alla basilica di S. Nicola su insistenza dell'allora re Carlo II d'Angiò. La chiesa ha avuto notevoli trasformazioni a seguito di restauri di varie epoche. L'interno è diviso in tre navate con relativi absidi visibili anche all'esterno. Attualmente, si tengono cerimonie sacre in rito armeno.
One of the oldest churches in Bari, dates back to the 10th or 11th century. It belonged to the Adralistos, a family of Byzantine origin, which was involved in medieval city struggles, to the point of suffering the destruction of their homes. The building was donated, by deed dated 22 November 1308, to the Basilica of St. Nicholas at the insistence of the then King Charles II of Anjou. The church has undergone remarkable transformations following the restoration of various periods. The interior is divided into three naves with relative apses also visible from the outside. Currently, sacred ceremonies are held in the Armenian rite.
