★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La chiesa di San Giorgio in Gogna è una delle più antiche chiese di Vicenza, sicuramente anteriore all'anno mille. È situata proprio ai piedi del Santuario di Monte Berico. Nei secoli passati è stata pure adibita a lazzareto e a prigione. Durante la seconda guerra mondiale è stata anche bombardata a causa della sua vicinanza alla ferrovia. È aperta tutti i giorni dalle 7 del mattino fino al tramonto. Vale veramente la pena una visita, colpisce per la sua semplicità e la sua bellezza. Da qui in 10 minuti si può raggiungere poi l'altrettanto bella Abbazia di Sant'Agostino dirigendosi verso Arcugnano.
The church of San Giorgio in Gogna is one of the oldest churches in Vicenza, certainly prior to the year one thousand. It is located right at the foot of the Sanctuary of Monte Berico. In past centuries it was also used as a lazaret and prison. It was also bombed during World War II due to its proximity to the railway. It is open every day from 7 in the morning until sunset. It is really worth a visit, striking for its simplicity and beauty. From here in 10 minutes you can then reach the equally beautiful Abbey of Sant'Agostino heading towards Arcugnano.
