★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Meravigliosa chiesa con forte influenza tardoromanico e gotico. Ha comunque conservato in se ogni epoca e le sue caratteristiche. Assicuro che guardarla una volta sola non basta. Ricca di particolari e segreti. Da notare i dipinti sui muri che ne fanno un luogo suggestivo e nel frattempo meraviglioso. La chiesa più bella di Lodi
Wonderful church with a strong late Romanesque and Gothic influence. However, it has preserved each era and its characteristics. I assure you that looking at it once is not enough. Full of details and secrets. Note the paintings on the walls that make it a suggestive and in the meantime wonderful place. The most beautiful church in Lodi

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bellissima chiesa costruita in forme gotiche fra il 1280 e il 1307, San Francesco spicca per la peculiarità delle due cosiddette bifore a cielo aperto, o a vento: fu la prima chiesa dell'Italia settentrionale ad adottare questo espediente costruttivo, poi diffusosi in tutto il bacino padano. Ma non ci si deve fermare all'originale facciata: le sue tre navate, con archi a sesto acuto e matronei, sono completamente affrescate con stupende pitture realizzate da maestranze locali, risalenti per la maggior parte ai Secoli XIV, XV e XVI. Da notare anche un altorilievo duecentesco raffigurante San Bassiano.
Beautiful church built in Gothic style between 1280 and 1307, San Francesco stands out for the peculiarity of the two so-called open-air or wind-blown mullioned windows: it was the first church in northern Italy to adopt this constructive expedient, then spread throughout the basin Po Valley. But we must not stop at the original façade: its three naves, with pointed arches and women's galleries, are completely frescoed with beautiful paintings made by local craftsmen, mostly dating back to the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Also noteworthy is a thirteenth-century high relief depicting San Bassiano.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bella chiesa gotica con una facciata particolare con bifore aperte (quasi fosse incompiuta) che domina la piazza antistante.
Interni speciali, affreschi alle pareti ed alle colonne ben conservati (alcuni un po' picconati).
All'interno vi è la tomba di Ada Negri: alcune sue poesie sono all'esterno sulla destra della chiesa dietro i cipressi.
Beautiful Gothic church with a particular façade with open mullioned windows (almost unfinished) that dominates the square in front.
Special interiors, frescoes on the walls and columns well preserved (some a little pickled).
Inside there is the tomb of Ada Negri: some of her poems are outside on the right of the church behind the cypresses.
