Grazie alla guida abbiamo apprezzato meglio anche la storia della chiesa e di San Filippo! Baroque style church in the center of Fossombrone! As soon as I enter I am struck by the white of the large plaster statues that surround the apse and the gilded decorations! Thanks to the guide we also appreciated the history of the church and of San Filippo better!

Una pala d’altare barocca unica e senza eguali . Incredibile la luce che si percepisce condita dal bianco dello stucco che risalta in tutte le pareti e nel soffitto. Incredibile e di grande suggestione la pavimentazione a mosaico . Anche la sacrestia conserva opere eccezionali. Non raggiunge la quinta stella solo perché nel sotterraneo ricco di archi seicenteschi anziché trovare un museo troviamo un negozio di abbigliamento... spero che nel futuro decidano di rivedere l’uso di quel locale . A very charming baroque church, externally the unfinished facade does not do justice to the beauty of the interior. A unique and unrivaled Baroque altarpiece. Incredible the light that is perceived seasoned by the white stucco that stands out in all the walls and ceiling. The mosaic pavement is incredible and highly suggestive. The sacristy also preserves exceptional works. It does not reach the fifth star only because in the basement full of seventeenth-century arches instead of finding a museum we find a clothing store ... I hope that in the future they decide to review the use of that place.

Built between 1608 and 1613, it deserves a visit for its beauty and history. Inside you will meet highly trained local guides who tell with passion and wisdom all that this splendid church contains.
A	Anna Maria Polverino on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ È la chiesa di Fossombrone che ho apprezzato maggiormente nel corso della mia visita alla cittadina marchigiana. Risale all'inizio del Seicento e fu costruita a spese della comunità locale per la nascita dell'erede dell'ultimo duca di Urbino, Francesco Maria Della Rovere. In seguito fu ampliata ed abbellita. La facciata, rimasta incompiuta, si presenta molto semplice e non lascia immaginare la splendida maestosità delle decorazioni ed opere d'arte in marmo e in gesso in stile barocco dell'interno, che ha una sola navata e sei cappelle laterali. Pregevole la granda pala dell'altare dedicata ai cinque santi martiri di Fossombrone. Questo abbellimento, come ho letto, si protrasse per circa un secolo, cioè fino all'inizio del Settecento. Vale la pena pagare alcuni euro per visitare la sacrestia per ammirare arredi del Seicento e Settecento e la cantoria dove sono conservate alcune statue di Madonne da processione, tra cui particolarmente bella è quella vestita. It is the church of Fossombrone that I appreciated the most during my visit to the Marche town. It dates back to the early seventeenth century and was built at the expense of the local community for the birth of the heir of the last Duke of Urbino, Francesco Maria Della Rovere. Later it was enlarged and embellished. The façade, left unfinished, is very simple and does not let you imagine the splendid majesty of the decorations and works of art in marble and plaster in the Baroque style of the interior, which has a single nave and six side chapels. The large altarpiece dedicated to the five holy martyrs of Fossombrone is valuable. This embellishment, as I have read, lasted for about a century, that is, until the beginning of the eighteenth century. It is worth paying a few euros to visit the sacristy to admire furnishings from the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries and the choir where some statues of procession Madonnas are kept, among which the dressed one is particularly beautiful.

Conviene telefonare per effettuare la visita, noi siamo stati fortunati perché era aperta una porta laterale, abbiamo chiesto e ci hanno guidati in una visita guidata bellissima. La guida (eccellente e gentilissima)era lì perché all'interno stavano allestendo per un evento prossimo. Extraordinary. It is better to call to make the visit, we were lucky because a side door was open, we asked and they guided us on a beautiful guided tour.
