C'è poi un belvedere se si accede al parco che da una panoramica molto bella! Oasis of peace. It was closed when we went, but it was already after 18:30. Wir hatten Glück, der Mesner bzw. jemand der sich um die Kirche kümmert war gerade da und hatte aufgesperrt. Hinter der Kirche ist ein kleiner Aussichtspunkt mit Blick auf die Isola del Garda. It's been some time. The Chiesa di San Fermo is hidden in the forest and is not always open. We were lucky, the sacristan or someone who takes care of the church was just there and unlocked the door. Behind the church is a small lookout point with a view of the Isola del Garda.

M	Mari Ube on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come già riportato nella recensione del Promontorio di San Fermo, la chiesa si erge in completo isolamento in una spianata che precede di alcune centinaia di metri la punta del promontorio omonimo stesso. La si incontra dopo avere lasciato l'auto in un posteggio (il più vicino è quello della spiaggia "Baia del Vento") e aver percorso a piedi il sentiero (Strada Privata Cavazza) che, in pochi minuti e in piano, conduce all'edificio. Lungo il tragitto si incontra un maneggio con bei cavalli che si crogiolano al tiepido sole pomeridiano di gennaio! Le forme attuali del tempio sono tardo rinascimentali, con facciata a capanna e oculo centrale. Il portale è affiancato da due finestre; da una delle due è possibile visionare l'interno, molto semplice (la chiesa è normalmente chiusa, eccetto il 9 agosto, festa del Santo titolare). Le sue origini paiono attestarsi al 1300 e apparteneva alla Pieve di S. Maria di Manerba. Fu poi rivendicata dai frati dell’isola di Garda e dai comuni di San Felice e di Portese. La controversia si risolse a favore del distretto parrocchiale di Portese. Per un periodo il tempietto finì con l’essere abbandonato a causa del disinteresse dei sacerdoti e divenne così proprietà del Demanio. Nel 1835 la chiesetta, successivamente acquistata da Domenico Brunelli, venne restituita alla parrocchia di Portese su volere testamentario del proprietario. Molto interessanti sono le strutture adiacenti la chiesa: avanzi di mura, corsi di muri a secco ricoperti dalla vegetazione, parti di una verosimile fortificazione con finestrella e grata. Secondo alcuni storici, in loco sorgeva il castello di Scovolo (dal latino "scopulus", cioè scoglio, rupe), menzionato già in documenti carolingi e in seguito medievali. Tuttavia le ricerche sul campo sembrano non avere attestato elementi di epoca medievale ma romana (?). Le fondazioni che sono ancora visibili e le possenti mura parrebbero però riportare al periodo medievale. Proseguendo oltre chiesa e ruderi si arriva ad una radura con stupendi affacci a strapiombo sul lago: vicinissima è l'Isola di Garda, che appare in tutta la sua bellezza. L'orario invernale di accesso al sito è 9-17; quello estivo 8-21. Esperienza da fare! As already reported in the review of the Promontory of San Fermo, the church stands in complete isolation on an esplanade that precedes the tip of the promontory of the same name by a few hundred meters. You will meet it after having left the car in a car park (the closest is that of the "Baia del Vento" beach) and having walked the path (Strada Privata Cavazza) which, in a few minutes and on the flat, leads to the building. Along the way you will come across a riding stable with beautiful horses basking in the warm January afternoon sun! The current forms of the temple are late Renaissance, with a gabled facade and central oculus. The portal is flanked by two windows; from one of the two it is possible to view the interior, very simple (the church is normally closed, except on 9 August, the feast of the titular saint). Its origins seem to date back to 1300 and it belonged to the parish church of S. Maria di Manerba. It was then claimed by the friars of the island of Garda and by the municipalities of San Felice and Portese. The dispute was resolved in favor of the parish district of Portese. For a period the temple ended up being abandoned due to the lack of interest of the priests and thus became the property of the State Property. In 1835 the church, subsequently purchased by Domenico Brunelli, was returned to the parish of Portese at the behest of the owner. The structures adjacent to the church are very interesting: remains of walls, courses of dry stone walls covered by vegetation, parts of a probable fortification with a window and grate. According to some historians, the castle of Scovolo stood on the spot (from the Latin "scopulus", that is rock, rock), already mentioned in Carolingian and later medieval documents. However, the field research does not seem to have attested elements of the medieval but Roman period (?). The foundations that are still visible and the mighty walls, however, seem to refer to the medieval period. Continuing beyond the church and ruins you come to a clearing with wonderful views overlooking the lake: very close is the Island of Garda, which appears in all its beauty. The winter hours of access to the site are 9-17; the summer one 8-21. Experience to do!
