Nel centro storico, oltre alla cappella di Sant’Antonio e a quella cinquecentesca di Santa Maria della Consolazione, è da visitare la chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, costruita in stile barocco nella seconda metà del XVI secolo. Oggi, infatti, la chiesa ha l’iconostasi (la parete che regge le icone) e l’altare greco. Vi si celebra la liturgia bizantina, perché gli albanesi d’Italia sono cattolici di rito greco. Nella chiesa, quindi, le statue sono sostituite da icone: quelle del Cristo Pantokràtor e della Vergine Odigitria sono state dipinte da Alfonso Caccese, e quelle delle dodici feste dell’anno sono giunte da Atene.
