Altra indicazione è quella voluta dal Principe di Piombino, che rivolge domanda al Vescovo della Diocesi di Massa Marittima–Populonia, per lucrare in questa chiesa il Giubileo dell’anno 1575, esentando così i piombinesi dall’obbligo di recarsi nella Cattedrale di Massa Marittima. La Cappella dedicata alla Madonna del Desco, esistente dal quattrocento, fu eretta al di fuori della cerchia delle mura cittadine e più precisamente, risultava in aperta campagna a nord della porta a terra. Della Chiesina della Madonna del Desco (ufficialmente della Neve), poco si è tramandato della storia; il suo impianto planimetrico a base rettangolare ne fa un esempio di chiesa ad aula unica di ridotte dimensioni, alla quale si accede dal piccolo andito che una volta fungeva da piccola alloggia. Essa esisteva nel Quattrocento ed i locali annessi vennero temporaneamente ridotti a lazzaretto nel Seicento; Essa era meta di pellegrinaggi anche in tempi abbastanza recenti, in quanto vi si venerava appunto la "Madonna del Desco", oggi dispersa. Sembra inoltre che in seno alla Cappella si formasse un Convento di Frati Cappuccini verso il 1610. La Chiesa, purtroppo, ha subito notevoli rimaneggiamenti nel corso dei secoli, pur mantenendo quasi intatto l’impianto interno. La sua costruzione, risale appunto al XV secolo, con l’aggiunta nel secolo successivo della loggetta ancora oggi esistente. È certa invece la costruzione di un lazzaretto per la cura degli ammalati, nel 1631; questo ebbe però vita breve perché andò distrutto durante l’occupazione delle armate francesi verso la metà dello stesso secolo. Le piccole stanzette laterali, furono costruite nel 1471 e servivano, oltre che da piccola sacrestia, anche da rifugio e modesta abitazione dell’eremita che occupava la chiesetta. L'interno dello stesso Oratorio accoglie sepolture, come indicano un antico marmo con stemma gentilizio del pavimento, che sigilla la cripta, e le pietre sepolcrali delle pareti, commemoranti due componenti della Famiglia Parrini, morti nel 1918-1920. Tale famiglia, quale proprietaria del luogo sacro, cedette i propri diritti all'Ente S. Cerbone. All’interno della Cappella, la volta del piccolo tempio fu affrescata nel 1925 dal prof. Luigi Arcangeli; l’umidità ne ha compromesso varie parti, in particolar modo le figure dell’Annunciazione in alto nella parete dietro l’altare. Lungo la navata, sul pavimento, vi è una lapide a forma quadrata di marmo con uno stemma accartocciato, senza alcuna epigrafe, contornato da nastri allegorici (secolo XVII).
