Il nome (Madonna Degli Abbandonati) deriva dal ritrovamento, nelle immediate vicinanze dell'icona di una lastra di zinco, abbandonata appunto, raffigurante una Madonna col bambino.
Nell'ultimo fine settimana di Luglio si svolge una festa. Questa tradizione va avanti dai tempi della costruzione della chiesa, ed era un tempo molto popolare nella zona e non solo.
Negli ultimi anni sono state apportate delle modifiche al tetto della chiesa, che da basso e con due piccoli "campanili" ai lati della facciata è diventato più alto e con un solo campanile.
 Rural church built between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century near an icon dedicated to San Michele.
The name (Madonna Degli Abbandonati) derives from the discovery, in the immediate vicinity of the icon, of an abandoned zinc plate depicting a Madonna and child.
A party takes place on the last weekend of July. This tradition has been going on since the church was built, and was once very popular in the area and beyond.
In recent years, changes have been made to the roof of the church, which from below and with two small "bell towers" on the sides of the facade has become higher and with a single bell tower.
