★ ★ ★ ★ ★ La Collegiata è dedicata alla Santissima Annunziata e ha sostituito come Parrocchiale l'antica chiesa di San Teonesto (dal 1507). La Collegiata si incontra sulla via principale, in posizione intermedia tra l’antico Borgo e il Palazzo dei Principi. Fu finanziata a spese di Innocenzo Fieschi, che la iniziò nel 1480; la consacrazione avvenne nel 1486. Il bellissimo campanile è di gusto romanico e spicca in lontananza, ma si può vedere da vicino entrando in vicolo Campanile, a destra del tempio.
La facciata è decorata in tinte verdi e ocra alternate; di gusto goticheggiante, ha un timpano decorato e guglie. Una scalinata centrale e due rampe laterali precedono l'ingresso. L'interno è maestoso e ricco di opere d'arte, tra cui la più preziosa e antica è la Madonna Nera, trasferita qui dalla vecchia parrocchiale di S. Teonesto. Una grande croce latina campeggia sulla pavimentazione di fronte alla chiesa. Purtroppo ho trovato chiuso l'edificio e non ho visto cartelli che indicassero orari di apertura.
The Collegiate Church is dedicated to the Santissima Annunziata and has replaced the ancient church of San Teonesto (since 1507) as a parish church. The Collegiate Church meets on the main street, in an intermediate position between the ancient village and the Palazzo dei Principi. It was financed at the expense of Innocenzo Fieschi, who started it in 1480; the consecration took place in 1486. The beautiful bell tower is of Romanesque style and stands out in the distance, but it can be seen closely by entering the Vicolo Campanile, to the right of the temple.
The facade is decorated in alternating green and ocher colors; of Gothic style, it has a decorated tympanum and spiers. A central staircase and two lateral ramps precede the entrance. The interior is majestic and rich in works of art, among which the most precious and ancient is the Black Madonna, moved here from the old parish church of S. Teonesto. A large Latin cross stands out on the pavement in front of the church. Unfortunately I found the building closed and I didn't see any signs indicating opening hours.
