Fino al 1777 nei sotterranei della cripta e del sagrato venivano sepolti i defunti, le spoglie dei quali ancora riposano nella cripta che si estende sotto al pavimento della chiesa. Realizzata in cotto a vista, si caratterizza per la sua semplicità architettonica, con forme assai regolari. Lo spazio interno, inaspettatamente alto e arioso, custodisce lunette e finestroni rinascimentali, tra gli elementi di maggior pregio dell'edificio, insieme alle otto cappelle laterali ricche di marmi e stucchi di epoca barocca con alcuni ex voto. Nel coro una lapide tombale marmorea testimonia la presenza nella chiesa dei Padri Serviti, prolungatasi per oltre tre secoli e cela l'accesso ai sotterranei sepolcrali del complesso, una notevole cripta occupa tutta l'estensione della chiesa. Il pilone quadrato, posto all'angolo del piazzale antistante la chiesa, presentava ai quattro lati altrettanti affreschi del pittore sommariveseGiovanni Maria Borri risalenti al 1855 di cui oggi rimangono solo finissime tracce all'occhio attento, quasi completamente perduti. Leggenda vuole che l'anima del pilone custodisca una struttura lignea.

Until 1777 the dead were buried in the basement of the crypt and the churchyard, the remains of which still rest in the crypt that extends under the church floor. Made of exposed brick, it is characterized by its architectural simplicity, with very regular shapes. The interior space, unexpectedly high and airy, contains Renaissance lunettes and large windows, among the most valuable elements of the building, together with the eight side chapels rich in marble and stucco from the Baroque period with some ex voto. In the choir, a marble tombstone testifies to the presence of the Servite Fathers in the church, which continued for over three centuries and conceals access to the complex's burial vaults, a considerable crypt occupying the whole extension of the church. The square pylon, located at the corner of the square in front of the church, presented on the four sides as many frescoes by the Sommarivese painter Giovanni Maria Borri dating back to 1855, of which today only very fine traces remain to the watchful eye, almost completely lost. Legend has it that the soul of the pylon preserves a wooden structure.
