★ ★ ★ ★ ★ E' una chiesa di riconosciuta importanza storica in quando fondata già in epoca alto medioevale (si ipotizza anche l'VIII secolo!). Purtroppo di quel luogo di culto sono rimasti solo alcuni conci lapidei reimpiegati nella successiva pieve del XII secolo.
Del XIII secolo sono invece la preziosa cripta (purtroppo non sempre aperta e visitabile) collocata sotto il presbiterio ed una parte della massiccia torre campanaria.
Alla fine del 1500 ci fu comunque la ricostruzione in stile tardo-rinascimentale sia della chiesa che del campanile a conferma della notevole ricchezza della Brentonico di quei tempi.
Caratteristico è il grande portico antistante l'ingresso principale.
All'interno spicca il solenne altare in marmo di Castione realizzato alla fine del 1500.
It is a church of recognized historical importance when it was founded already in the early Middle Ages (it is also hypothesized the VIII century!). Unfortunately, only some stone slabs were reused in that place of worship in the next parish church of the twelfth century.
Of the 13th century are the precious crypt (unfortunately not always open and open) located under the presbytery and part of the massive bell tower.
At the end of the 1500s, however, the late-Renaissance reconstruction of both the church and the bell tower was confirmed, confirming the notable wealth of the Brentonico of those times.
Characteristic is the large portico in front of the main entrance.
Inside stands the solemn marble altar of Castione built at the end of 1500.
