★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fu costruita nel 1627 su disegno dell'architetto Rosato Rosati, che riprese lo schema della Chiesa di San Carlo a Catinari di Roma.
L'organizzazione interna dello spazio è tipica delle chiese appartenenti all'ordine dei Gesuiti: navata unica con profonde cappelle laterali, fra cui si distinguono quelle dedicate a Sant'Ignazio di Loyola e a San Francesco Saverio. L'interno è ricco di marmi policromi e decorazioni che creano spazi illusori, tipici dell'arte barocca.
Il suo cupolone e la sua alta lanterna, ben visibili da lontano, fanno ormai parte dello skyline maceratese.
È attualmente in restauro, in seguito agli eventi sismici del 2016.
It was built in 1627 to a design by the architect Rosato Rosati, who took up the layout of the Church of San Carlo in Catinari in Rome.
The internal organization of the space is typical of churches belonging to the Jesuit order: a single nave with deep side chapels, among which those dedicated to Sant'Ignazio di Loyola and San Francesco Saverio stand out. The interior is rich in polychrome marbles and decorations that create illusory spaces, typical of Baroque art.
Its dome and its high lantern, clearly visible from afar, are now part of the Macerata skyline.
It is currently undergoing restoration, following the earthquake events of 2016.
